Suzanne is not taking new clients.

Suzanne has a Master’s Degree in Agency Counseling from Lynchburg College and is a Virginia Board Licensed Professional Counselor. She has over two decades of experience in counseling and human services, and has worked in private practice since 2004. Over the years, she has been employed as an in-home therapist, Emergency Outpatient Services Clinician, Truancy and Diversion Specialist and as a Clinical Case Manager. She has provided individual and group counseling as an intern in private practice and has worked closely with the schools, the juvenile court system, social services, foster care agencies, Community Services Boards and the Family Assessment and Services Team in various capacities. 

Suzanne has extensive training in a variety of methods utilized in Play Therapy with children. Her expertise includes the use of both directive and client-centered play therapy techniques, as well as the use of therapeutic games to help children deal effectively with emotional and behavioral issues.

Krystal is a graduate of Liberty University with an M.A. in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is licensed by the Virginia Board of Counselors as a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Krystal has over 15 years experience working with youth and families, with a focus on attachment and trauma work.  Her training and certifications include: Complex Trauma Professional II, Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), Certified Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and Theraplay Level II.

Krystal’s areas of expertise include Reactive Attachment Disorder, behavior issues, ADHD/ADD, Autism and anxiety; as well as relational problems, grief and loss, treating victims of domestic violence and sexual assault, dissociative behaviors in children and adolescents, families in the foster care system, and pre- and post-adoption support services. 

Krystal helps families and children work through traumatic experiences and increase positive parent-child interactions by utilizing a relationship-focused parent-child interactional therapy modality. She also provides expressive therapies such as art and sand-tray world play, as well as Theraplay and play therapy. Krystal works primarily with children ages 3-13.

Krystal is no longer offering EMDR services.
